Does anyone have an idea on where i can go over june long weekend.
The place needs to be no more than 3 hrs from western sydney.
Have a fire place
Preferably on a farm with animals
A stocked dam on site would be a bonus:tongue3:
ps i remember someone on this site posting about a family stay they had at a b&b which was very similar to what i discribed. hope thye read this...

I remember the report you speak of Dan. I think it may have been put up by Onelastcast. Good luck and have fun.:headbang:

There's quite a few such places in Kangaroo Valley on the south coast just before Jervis Bay. My sister takes her family there every year. There's a large dam nearby (forgotten the name of it) that has bass, eels, and carp in it for the kids (and adults) to fish. It also has a canoe/kayak renting vacilities.

regatta point holiday park mate in bermagui... might be an extra 2 hour drive than 3 hours but its worth it.... waterfront views in nice little caravans that are fully decked out... fires are alloud outside and the lake is awsome... full of prime fish in winter before the trawlers come through.... Use to average around 15 flathead for a 2 hour fish all the time.... pm me for more info if your keen mate

Dan,
You might have to drive a little further to find all three requirements.
If you are willing to do that, check these ones out

Mate go to the Watagan Moutains and you can then go to lake Macquarie and dangle a line on some of the beaches in the area.
You can suss it out via this link:
http://www.visitlakemac.com.au/pages/watagan-mountains/
Search for the accomodation you want then hey presto! all good to go no more that 2.5 hours away from Sydney CBD and yet not farkn freezing or expensive compared to the Blue Mtns.
Looks like an ideal retreat
Cheers
Anthony
