Follow the link for the fact sheet.

A free camp ground next to the Kangaroo River 5ks from Kangaroo Valley Township.

This is a massive camp ground with excellent grass cover and really good flush toilet facilities. Also good quality drinking water available.

No showers but it IS next to the fresh water river.

2.5 hours drive from Epping via the M2/M7 and Hume to Mittagong and down the hill past Fitzroy Falls.

The river holds some BASS and there are hire canoes/kayaks available from the township.

This is an excellent campground, kept in very good nick with security patrols to keep the dickhead factor down. You can NOT book ahead but we were there for the start of the OZ Day weekend and no problems finding a good spot.

Only downside for many of you is that there is a no campfire rule. Also no pwer ( which suits me) and no showers.

Anyway, a good destination for camping within easy reach of SYdney.

happy Camping

Its a nice spot!!, It was warm weather when we where there, so the fire wasnt really an issue,
A massive place that was very empty, suited me to the ground!

Thanks for the rundown Macman. It's fantastic to hear first hand accounts of camping grounds within cooee of Sydney.

It sounded perfect until the no fire rule was mentioned. Camping without a fire is like a sandwich without bread - but otherwise it sounds like a top spot.

Love having a fire to, but I can live without it during summer and

There is always a snake in paradise
