Howard,

We use a bit of his gear as it spun steel and just so much lighter than traditional camp ovens.

The stuff is also more versatile and as an example can be used as a fry pan which is then the lid etc...

Less weight more stuff!

I use a similar one to that when I am in an area that still permits open fires.

The rest of the time I use one of these, two burner stove with grill underneath.

Depending whats being cooked you can either use frying pans, a grill plate or pots on top of it. Great to have with you when all the wood is wet and its pissing down with rain.

For extended trips where we got there by car, my bbq rig is taken

For hiking trips, nothing beats my MSR. You can use anyfuel you have - kero, desiel, white fuel, and it will cook whatever you have in a matter of minutes! It weights bugger all, and can be stripped in the field for easy maintainence
