Not really fishing I know:)

Bought a prawning outfit at the weekend and have been out the last three nights, Sunday and Monday at the Entrance and this evening at Canton beach.

The entrance was packed as you can imagine with holiday season and the prawns were not in huge numbers. Managed about 500g for 1.5 hours.

Canton was a different proposition with little current and even less prawns.

For anyone who has not tried it before I can recommend it as a great way to spend a couple of hours even when its slow its great fun. Cant wait for when they really begin to run. ummmm Prawns:D :D

Mark - the locals up at Canton warned me about the sea lice there  - if you have waders, wear them!

Yeah but it was only a little one - about a 4 foot long great white - haven't heard of anyone being taken by a shark whilst prawning there Joe .... yet!:p

Yeah Joe, thats where they caught the baby white at Canton Beach.

Mark, not surprising to see the prawns a little slow after all the wet. A good night at the entrance when they are running is a few kgs per person. I went in december to patonga and worked realy hard for about the same amount as you got. Got to agree though - its great fun and a nice way to spend a really hot night, even if oyu dont get many prawns.
