It seems Yellowtail Kingfish are the talk of the week. Sydney Harbour, offshore and Broken Bay are boasting good numbers of Kingfish.
This week we also have had Iain’s never ending plight in eradicating commercial fisherman from Sydney Harbour printed in the Daily Telegraph (well done Iain!). See Iain’s letter in this thread http://www.sydneyangler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=357
We’ll start with Fridays reports where we had Simon (REKLESS) finding the harbour live bait population and heading through the heads for a mixed bag from Dolphin fish (Mahi Mahi) to Marlin strikes at the 12 mile and then some nice Kingfish to finish the day. Read about it here:

Ty (lbgking) Has an interesting story of fishing in a comp at the Penrith Regatta centre where a few Bass were bagged. That story is here:
http://www.sydneyangler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=332
Smitty and Fishrunner exited the Harbour in a sloppy swell on Friday to end up with a great catch consisting of a dozen Bream, a dozen Kingfish, Sgt Baker, Bonito and Trevally. The report is here:
http://www.sydneyangler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=333
Our Fly specialist Ken (Narralakes) has shown that persistence pays off when he took some nice Kingfish in the Harbour on Fly gear. Witnessing the action, within shouting distance, was some other dedicated Sydneyangler members. Kens report is here:
http://www.sydneyangler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=324
Neilm had an early start on Sunday morning and headed to Monavale beach. Neil had some live poddies and a selection of other tasty baits but had a frustrating morning. Neil’s Mona Beach report is here:
http://www.sydneyangler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=340
Andrew (Andy_from_the_CJ) Darryl and deckie Rod left Bobbin Head for Broken Bay on Saturday morning with a plan of testing Andy’s down riggers on some of Sydney’s offshore Marlin population, unfortunately the “engine warning lamp” cut the day short but they managed to salvage the day with Kingfish and a jumbo Australian Salmon. At least the day wasn’t spoilt completely!! The report is here:

New member “the doc” (welcome mate) had a group of mates on a charter boat offshore from Wollongong. Pigfish and Snapper started the day but it ended with Sweep. Have a look at the doc’s report here:
http://www.sydneyangler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=342
Lurespinner had a great land based session in the Iron Cove area. Bream and Flathead on lure’s were the order of the day. Read Lurespinners report and great pics here:
http://www.sydneyangler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=341
Darryl and Andrew (Andy_from_the_CJ) had another session (do these guys ever work??) this time in Darryl’s “Gunboat”. Their report is about a Marlin strike, Bonito, Cuttlefish and Sydney Harbour Kingfish. Read it all here:
http://www.sydneyangler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=345
Michael (Pogo) and Darryl (does this guy live on the water??) Hit the Harbour. After having some luck capturing the gun bait Squid, landed some nice Kingfish. Darryl then hooked up to donkey sized fish which gave him some stick on heavy gear before the fisho’s worst nightmare occurred with a knot slipping…..bugger!!
Read Michael’s (pogo) report here:

Nicho talks about his adventures along the NSW North coast. The report touches beach baiting for Jewfish, catching Flathead, the art of beachworm capture and nude backpackers.
Nichos report is here:

Jocool, Frank (wetpatch) and myself (Jimbo) had a great session live baiting Kingfish off Sydney on Friday. It was Frank’s and my virgin legal Kingfish experience. For a great read see here:
http://www.sydneyangler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=330
Michael (Pogo) was again out in the big blue drink with a few mates on board. With Kingfish in their sights they loaded the live bait tank and after a bit of work in the good ship “The Pogo Boat” the Northern Beaches netted results. They are recorded here:
http://www.sydneyangler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=355
Bruce (Boppa) and Deckie had a frustrating morning in Broken Bay after launching at Acuna Bay. Squid and Trevally were the bulk of the results but you can’t help but feel Boppa is one session away from a good sized bag. Bruce’s report is here:
http://www.sydneyangler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=359
Kings’n’town after persisting with his pursuit of Squid around the Spit area his efforts paid off with a “blinder” session of Kingfish in Middle Harbour and Sydney Harbour. Some Bream also get a mention in the report. Catch it all here:

Tim (welcome to the site) tells of a few backed up sessions around the Broken Bay area. Species such as Bonito, Kingfish and Australian Salmon feature as well as the pursuit of Marlin and Dolphin Fish. See Tim’s report here:
