Neil Tedesco dies in pool accident

Just read that Neil Tedesco died last night in a pool accident.
I read this on a few fishing sites.
Such a gun fish and fun person will be surely missed by his family and plenty of fishos and veiwers of his show.

Andrew Clarke called in to let the listeners of a fishing show in melb or where ever ,Casey FM fishing show to let the public know that Neil had passed away yesterday

I received a call earlier today to tell of this news but I didn't want to mention it until it was confirmed. It's not the kind of story I like talking about...especially if it is untrue.

In any case, if true, it is a tragedy. Condolences to all his family and loved ones. Neil was a champion fisherman and I am sure I am not the only one that looked up to him as a very accomplished angler.

R.I.P. Neil.

Hi Guys,

hate to be a bearer of bad news, but I've just had some terrible news confirmed.

Neil Tedesco (Adventure Bound), died in a free diving accident at his local gym on the 16th April 2009.

I'm sure that those of us lucky enough to have seen his show would know just how informative and inspirig his work was.

What a great loss to the Australian Fishing Community.

Sorry for the downer guys, but just thought I had to share this...

Neil was a great presenter - he told a hell of a good yarn .
It was pretty shocking to hear about his accidental death from free diving training , he will be greatly missed.
I have just started getting into spearing which of course uses the same techniques , my wife is very concerned. Does anyone know any details about what happened to neil?

I'm not into diving or any of that, but common sense means if you need air you go to the top? Did he maybe try to push to hard?

Part of free diving training involves static water . This is where you hold your breath for as long as possible while moving as little as possible (oxygen usage). This is usually done with buddys with direct supervision as there is a risk of shallow water blackout where you go unconsious due to lack of oxygen in the bloodstream. With training freedivers can exceed 5 minutes .

I can only guess that something along this line is what happened with neil

Man that's unbelievable. I remembered the first show i watched when he was catching 40kg Kings down in S.A. A great presenter and an awesome fisherman. He willbe soorly missed.
